s cleaner than many other parts of India but it won’t last long at the current rate. Our driver was a delightful man but we had to iron out some issues with punctuality and driving safety. Perhaps I misunderstood some of the arrangements, but I was surprised I needed to explain the itinerary to the driver. I was also surprised to be constantly spending on tickets to access all the so-called included sightseeing, as well as fees for parking and for bringing a camera etc. it adds up over the week. It might be a normal Indian thing but I would have expected the included itinerary to be already paid for. My advice would be to do your research. I was unaware the walk to the double decker bridge involved 7500 steps down and back up again! Stunning though and a very popular trek. It was quite an effort on a hot day. The bamboo trek was also arduous but spectacular and highly recommended. Surprisingly we started and finished the bamboo trek from Shillong when we had already travelled that route earlier. We could have stayed at a homestay in a nearby village and avoided all that time travelling back and forth. Especially since driving in and around Shillong is like being in one giant traffic jam. I don’t mean to sound negative. I actually had a very enjoyable trip. Meghalaya a beautiful place to visit, especially when out of the built up areas. Bamboo trek, visiting the local markets. The beautiful Khasi people. The magnificent and ancient root bridges is several places.

hotels were provided for me to select from , entire travel was planned according to my wish . I was explained of all possible options and the i decided based on the same and it was well planned All the hotels were clean and hygenic , the food was awesome .

y enjoyed the trip and cherish memories of our visit. The most enjoyed portions of our trip are Balaji Temple in Guwahati, Kazhiranga National Park, Chirapunji, Mawlynnlong Living Root Bridge, Dawki Border with Bangladesh, Boat ride in Umngot river supposed to be crystal clear water but due to previous night rain was totally murky (unlucky!!), Sacred Forest, Umiam Lake, Darshan at Maa Khamakya temple, Assam State Zoo. However not all locations could be enjoyed fully as described in your offer for reasons below : 1. Umiyam Lake had closed while going from Guwahati but during return could see the lake but no boat ride was possible due to extreme windy conditions. 2. Umngot river water was totally murky due to overnight rain. 3. Northiang Monolith was totally missed as driver forgot to take us there. The hotels chosen were pretty decent but lacked any room view. We were stumped when we reached Shillong when the Hotel Treetops Residency informed that there was no booking for us and he was being kind enough to accommodate us for that night (2nd day). For the subsequent booking on 5th and 6th Night (while returning) he advised us to look for alternate accommodation which as per the manager was already informed to Indeman Travels but no action taken till we flagged this issue. Created anxious moments till alternate arrangement was made, which could very well have been avoided. In fact the hotel room at EEE CEE Hotel did not have any window and only walls on all sides. The cab driver initially was very helpful but as the tour proceeded developed different attitude. In fact we were dropped at the airport at 12 o’ clock itself for our flight at 17.05 hrs and left in a hurry after unloading the luggage on the road in departure end.
